2. Approval of the Agenda
The US delegation noted that the Kista Minutes should have the document no.18/821/RM. The NL delegation informed that due to a WG meeting the item 7.1 would perhaps need to be deferred.
The Chairman noted that under item 11 the report of Mr.Ward was to be taken early the next morning, i.e. Thursday morning.
Agenda document references to be completed：
Item 9.2, correct document 18/859/FDIS.
Item 20, correct document 18A/166/AC.
The Agenda was approved subject to the changes given above.
3. To confirm the minutes of the meeting held in Kista from 9th to 11th October 1996

Page 14, XI.14, first line should read： See Annex S.
The Secretary said that he had included all the annexes in the Minutes so that they could give a more comprehensive view of the proceedings of the TC 18 meeting.
The committee agreed to this way of presenting the Minutes.
The Miutes of the TC 18 meeting in Kista were confirmed subject to the correction given above.
4. Presentation by the Central Office representative of new provisions in the process of making standards
Mr.Michel Coupy of the IEC Central Office in Geneva gave a presentation of the new procedures and IT facilities to be used in the standardization work, including some data on the size and development of the IEC. More than 4000 Publications have now been issued representing in total more than 160000 pages. Mr.Coupy stressed that the IEC Web site is a very useful tool for picking up information on a number of aspects of IEC activities. The working documents can be accessed on the document serveer subject to password allocation given by the National Committees corresponding to the level of normal document access given to the delegates/members. Comments should from now on be given in electronic form using a standard template.
Mr.Coupy described in detail the nature of the so-called Industry Technical Agreement, ITA. Concerning drawings the recommendation is to use AutoCAD together with Word files.
