Report on the IEC/TC18 Liaison with ISO/TC 188

 

Report from WG 22: ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION ON PLEASURE CRAFT

 

1. Introduction

This report covers the period between the TC 18 general meeting in Kista October 1996 and the general meeting held in Houston October 1998

 

2. Members

The WG got two new members during 1998 and counts now 6 members and 3 corresponding members.

 

3. Meetings held

During this period one WG meeting was organized in Kista on the 10th of October 1996.

 

The convener attends as liasion officer of IEC/TC 18 the CENELEC/SC 64A-WG709 "MARINAS" meeting in Paris on the 15th and 16 of April 1997.

 

A IEC/ISO meeting was held in London on the 18th of April 1997 between the represenatives of IEC/TC 18 (WG22) and ISO/TC 188 (WG 10) Small Craft.

 

A French/English editing committee meeting was held in Paris on the 21st of October 1997.

 

The convener attends as liasion officer of IEC/TC 18 the general ISO/TC 188 meeting in Libson on the 4th and 5th of June 1998.

 

4. Progress

In Kista the observation on the comments on 18/804/CD were made by the WG22-meeting and finalized by the convener after receiving late comments from come memberstates in December 1996 and comments from IEC/TC 18A in June 1997.

The editing committee structured the document in line with the requirements of the ISO/IEC directive Part 3.

IEC 18/839/CDV was circulated by the Central Office for comments on 27th of March 1998.

 

The comments from the memberstates on 18/839/CDV will be discussed during the General meeting in Houston on the basis of the observations from the secretariat.

 

5. Coordination with other committees

 

・ IEC/TC64

With the CENELEC/SC64A it was agreed to delete from their document: section 709- "MARINAS" all rules concerning pleasure craft excepted rule regarding the connection cable between IEC/TC64 and IEC/TC18.
