IEC/TC 18 Plenary meeting in Houston
REPORT OF WORKING GROUP 21
WG 21： Revision of IEC 60533, 2nd Ed.： Electromagnetic compatibility of electrical and electronic installations in ships.
1. Introduction
This report covers the period between TC 18 meeting in Kista (Sweden) 1996 and the meeting in Houston to be held from 12th to 17th October 1998.
2. Members
The WG consists of： 7 members (including corresponding members) of 7 nations, temporary 3 guests.
3. Meetings held
Since TC 18 meeting in Kista 1996 one meeting have been held by WG 21：13 October 1998, Houston. In the meantime most problems and necessary agreements have been settled by correspondence.
4. Progress
At first we have incorporated the comments form the document 18/801/CD into the draft IEC 533, 2nd Ed. This document have been 1997 rewritten and prepared for circulation to the members of the WG to achieve the agreed revised version NO.9. In the meantime this document becomes the designation： IEC 60533/CDV dated 1997-08-28. The document has been edited in English and French language for circulating and voting to the NC's from 19 December 1997 up to 1 June 1998. Special thanks for translation and quick work to the Editing Committee!
Result： total votes cast： 13. P-members voting： 12. P-members in favour： 10, total against： 2, abstention： 1. Final decision： approved.
After receipt of the results, comments and observations of the Secretariat have been compiled in the table 18/836/CDV. Undecided items have also been discussed together with the Chairman and the Secretary in London on 22 June 1998.
It is true we received the vote of the Swedish NC together with particular comments but unfortunately in a partially deranged formatting so that an evaluation proved to be impossible. To get a new readable version required a long time. The comments are to be discussed on the basis of a prepared "marked up" copy together with the editorial comments from UK at the WG meeting on November 13th. Comments and observations are to be compiled in the green document.
5. Action
Preparation of FDIS manuscript.
