Dear Sir/Madam,
Procedures for new work, revision, amendments and maintenance of IEC publications
Further to AC/53 dated 1998-03-20, please find attached new versions of Forms 4, 5, 6 and 15A, which are needed to implement the new procedures. You may start using these forms with immediate effect. Please note that with effect from 1998-06-01, Form 4 is no longer applicable for revisions or amendments to standards or parts of standards. Proposals for amendments should be sent to the secretary of the TC/SC concerned, who should keep them in hand and collect them together for use at the beginning of the next Maintenance Cycle.
Electronic copies of the forms are available for download as Microsoft Word Templates on the IEC's web site at the URL ftp://ftp.iec.ch/pub/.contents.html.
Secretaries of technical committees and subcommittees may also obtain electronic versions of their "portfolio" of standards (i.e.a list of all standards for which their committee is responsible), which may be of help when preparing the Maintenance Cycle for each of these standards. The files are supplied in text-delimited form and can be readily imported into Spreadsheet programs such as Excel. The electronic versions of the files are available on request from the technical officer responsible for your committee.
