National Committees are invited to note that from 1998-06-01 only new work proposals relating to new standards or new parts of existing standards will be circulated. Proposals for changes to existing standards should be submitted to the secretary of the TC/SC concerned, which may decide to Circulate it for information or hand it to the convenor of the maintenance team concerned.
New forms 4,5,6 and 15A come into effect. National Committees should ensure that as of 1998-06-01, the proposals for new work no longer include amendments or revisions. The following changes are made to these forms： the second criterion for approval of new work items will read "25% of the P-members of the TC/SC, but at least 4 P-members"; all new work item proposals include a project plan (revised Form 4); when Form 6 is circulated, it includes the name of the project leader, a list of experts nominated and the date and place of the first project team/working group meeting. The new versions of the forms will be made available shortly and will be downloadable on the IEC's web site.
