6.1 Introduction
Each item which appears in this clause 6 is a requirement for which a repeatable method of measurement has been defined in clauses 9 and following.
7 General test conditions
7.1 General
Environmental and safety tests shall be carried out first followed by tests to verify whether the equipment under test (EUT) meets all technical requirements. Where electrical tests are required, they shall be carried out using the normal test voltage as specified in subclause 7.2.2.1 unless stated otherwise.
7.2 Test conditions
7.2.1 Normal temperature and humidity
Normal temperature and humidity should comply with IEC 60945 5.2 and 5.2.1.
7.2.2 Extreme test conditions
Extreme test conditions should comply with IEC 60945 5.2, 5.2.2 and 5.2.3.
8 Environmental tests
8.1 General
Environmental tests are intended to assess the suitability of the construction of the EUT for its intended physical conditions of use. After each environmental test and, if specified, also during the test, the EUT shall comply with the requirements of a performance check. No preconditioning of the equipment shall be necessary. These tests are carried out to confirm compliance with the requirements of clause 5 and correspond to the tests specified in IEC 60945.
