We propose to add ?Shock test゛for this equipment as is for the RADAR for HSC.
(Refer: IEC 60936-2 4.18.2.4)
We propose to refer IEC 68-2-29: (1987 Basic environmental testing procedures Part 2: Tests-Test Eb and guidance : Bump )
For specific test parameters, we recommend:
Peak Acceleration (A): 100m/s2
Pulse Duration (D): 16ms
Speed Variation(□V): 1.0m/s
Number of Bumps: 1000□10
4.19 Interference
We propose to change the title to ?Electrical and electromagnetic interference゛.
4.21 Installation
In order to clarify the meaning, we propose to change the 4th paragraph as follows :
The sensor of the night vision equipment should be installed in such way that:
a) the required horizontal field of view is free of obstructions;
b) in the required field of view, in the direction right ahead, visibility of the water surface for the vertically tilted sensor is not reduced by more than two ship's length by the blind angle of one's own craft;
c) further within the horizontal panning area of the sensor;
□ in the sector up to 112.5□to either side, there are no obstructions with a deepest shadow bigger than 3□;
□ two deepest shadow are separated by an unobstructed field of vision of at least 30□;
□ in a sector from 112.5□to minimally 175□, and from minimally 185□to 247.5□, deepest shadows are kept to a minimum.
Night vision equipment should be designed --------- .
4.23 Interfacing
The reference to IEC interface standard should be ?IEC61162゛not ?IEC61162-1゛.
8.9 Compass safe distance
We propose reference standard for Compass safe distance from IEC60945 to ISO/DIS 694(Positioning of magnetic compasses in ships).
10.1 Standard test target
We believe the target depicted in this chapter is too much just for testing the equipment and might push the equipment cost up. So we propose the 2nd paragraph to be as follows:
?The size of the box is such that when at least 80% is immersed, 1.5 m□ long 1.5 m wide□ 0.5 m high remains above the water. Administrations may use other appropriate targets to reflect local conditions.゛
10.2 Minimum detection range
We believe the environmental condition, "under mean starlight conditions without clouds and without moon" posed in sea trial is too restricted. It might cause the delivery of the ship just by no good testing condition of Night Vision Equipment. So, we propose the paragraph to be changed as follows:
□□□?With the required field of view, the equipment should-------a minimum probability of 90%,under normal condition゛
Other Items
The interface standard IEC61162-1 does not include the Talker Identifier Mnemonics for Night Vision equipment. We should propose to IEC TC80/WG6 to register "Night Vision" to their Standard. Our recommendation would be ?NV゛.
