The Danish Polar Center is a service institution under the Ministry of Research & Information Technology which supports and co-ordinates Danish polar research in the Arctic and Antarctic.
3. 使命・目的
The objectives of the Danish Polar Center are:
・To support and co-ordinate Danish Arctic and Antarctic research
・To ensure continuity in Danish polar research
・To take the initiative for new research tasks
・To advise researchers and other participants in expeditions and assist in solving administrative problems
・To co-operate with and advise official authorities in Denmark in matters of research in Greenland
・To represent Denmark in relevant international organizations
・To build up a polar research library with international database cooperation and to provide information on research in Greenland
・To provide logistic support and co-ordination to research projects in Greenland
・To issue permits for scientific and sporting expeditions in Greenland
・To function as secretariat for the Commission for Scientific Research in Greenland
