MIYARABI, a D/W 5,700 MT High Speed RO/RO Cargo Ship
The MIYARABI, a high speed roll on/roll off cargo ship in regular service between Tokyo and Okinawa was completed at Onomichi Dockyard Co., Ltd. and delivered to Ryukyu-Kaiun Co., Ltd. on January 12th 1995.
The vessel's hull form offers extremely low wave-making resistance.
This enable it to ride out rough waters oil the route between Tokyo and Okinawa, where the vessel is exposed to strong winds and high waves during the winter and during the typhoon season in late summer.
A very fine single screw hull form could achieve a trial speed in excess of 24 knots, and a service speed of 20.4 knots is designed with 25% of sea-margin.
Various kind of cargoes, trailer chassis, trucks, containers and cars can be loaded smoothly to each three deck through each bow and stern lamps.
The vessel is designed to minimize the loading time by means of no pillar, no sheer and no camber on main deck, where domestic twenty feet container cargoes are mainly lifted on board and stacked by large forklift trucks.
A pair of finstabilizers, each bow and stern thrusters enable it to keep the safety voyage and well maneuverability in harbors.
