The 5,060 units type pure car carrier OLYMPIAN HIGHWAY was built at Kobe Works of Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. and delivered to Polyantha Shipping S.A. in January 1995.
Features
1. The ship has twelve (12) car decks including four (4) liftable ones for stowing large-sized vehicles such as buses, tracks, etc.
2. The ship has one (1) set of stern door/rampway in the aft part and two (2) sets of side port door/side rampway on both sides of the midship. The stern rampway is strong enough for loading large-sized vehicle of gross weight of 100t.
3. A low-speed, long-stroke, fuel-efficient main diesel engine, Kawasaki-MAN B & W 8S60MC is equipped.
4. Mono-fuel system for the main engine and the generator engines is adopted.
5. Kawasaki damp tank absorbs the hydraulic fluctuation due to propeller exciting force and reduces vibration.
