A 1,510-TEU Container Carrier ROYAL CONTAINER
The 1,510-TEU container carrier ROYAL CONTAINER built by the Onishi Works of the Shin Kurushima Dockyard Co., Ltd. was delivered in June 1996 to the Powick Marine Singapore Pte., Ltd.
The ship is the fourth of eleven sister ships, to be delivered to the Owner.
The ship carries 1,510TEUs of containers, including 60FEUs of air cooled refrigerated containers.
The containers are stowed 11 rows abreast and 5 tiers high on deck, and 8 rows abreast and 5 tiers high in holds. On deck container spaces are arranged for inter- changeable uses of 20 feet, 40 feet and 45 feet. All holds are arranged for 20 feet and 40 feet interchangeable.
The dangerous goods of IMO class 1, 2, 3, 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 5.1, 5.2, 6.1 and 8, in freight containers are stowed in holds and on deck.
The container holds are divided by six water-tight bulkheads to meet subdivision arrangement requirements of SOLAS for stability for drycargo in case of ship dam- age. Tile hatches are arranged in two rows.
