LA LOIRE, 4706-TEU Over-Panamax Container
Koyo Dockyard Co., Ltd. built and delivered a 4,706TEU type over-Panamax container ship to Minstrel Shipping S.A. on April 14, 1995. She is in service to transport containers between the Far East and Europe.
This container ship is of the three row hatch cover type, having seven holds forward of the engine room and two holds at the back, nine holds in total.
At the midship area 12 rows of 8 tiers of containers can be loaded in the holds while 15 rows of 5 tiers of containers can be loaded on top of the hatch covers.
Lashing bridges are arranged between the hatch covers for better efficiency in loading and unloading containers on hatch covers.
A total of 350FEU refrigerated containers can be loaded, with 68FEU loaded into the holds and 282FEU on tile hatch covers.
Furthermore, a 100ft hold is arranged at the midship area in preparation for the future increase in the use of 45ft containers.
Cargo handling on the ship is easy since the hull structure has enough strength to bear the container weight increased as a result of the increase in the amount of container transport.
Efforts have been made in the anti-vibration design of the upper structure of the ship to provide comfortable accommodation environments. As a result, the completed ship is free from any heavy vibration and the life on board ship is very comfortable.
