PACIFIC RAINBOW?, the Smaller One of Handy Size Bulk Carrier
The 23,829-dwt handy size bulk carrier, PACIFIC RAINBOW? was delivered to Leo Bulk Shipping of Panama by Naikai Zosen Corporation in May, 1995. The ship is the smaller of the two types of handy size bulk carriers developed by Naikai Zosen Corporation.
Design Features
-The cargo space is divided into four holds with topside tanks, of which No. 3 hold can be loaded with ballast water not to exceed 767.1m3.
-Four sets of 30t electro-hydraulic single type deck cranes make cargo handling more efficient.
-The ship is equipped with electro- hydraulic end folding hatch covers. The hatch cover of No. 1 is 18.76m long and 14.72m wide, while those for others are 20.10m long and 17.60m wide. Long hatches are applied to load long cargoes such as steel pipes, etc. in the cargo holds
-Fixed and collapsible steel stanchions on both sides on upper deck are used for stowing log and lumber.
