28,100-dwt Log/Bulk Carrier MARINE ISLAND
The Hakodate Dock Co., Ltd. has delivered 28,100 dwt Log/Bulk carrier MARINE ISLAND to Golden Shipholding Marine S. A. in September, 1996.
The ship is flush decker with forecastle and poop. Cargo space are divided into five holds and particularly Nos. 2,3 and 4 holds are designed as wide-hatch, box shape type double hull structure and those holds are equipped with sockets for fixing containers.
Four sets of 30.5tons deck cranes are provided on the upper deck and fixed and collapsible steel stanchions are equipped for stowing logs. The main engine of MAN B & W 6S42MC (Mark VI) enabling use of heavy fuel oil (380cst/50℃) on pier to pier basis is installed and also three sets of diesel generators can be operated with heavy fuel oil.
The main engine is controllable from the control room in engine room in which several monitors for watching working condition of auxiliary machines are provided.

45,000-dwt Bulk Carrier PRAIRIE SKY was completed at The Hakodate Dock Co., Ltd. in April, 1995. The ship was originally designed by the company and is flush decker with efficient bulbous bow, stern bulb to maintain favourable maneuverability and propul- sion effects.
Cargo space is divided into 5 holds with sufficient strength for alternative loading and those are also designed for carrying a wide range of cargo including steel coils (2 tiers x 2 rows in each hold)

The ship is designed as a shallow draft handy bulk carrier mainly transporting log and bulky cargo, such as coal, packed timber, cement, etc.
The ship's shape is flush decker with forecastle and poop. The accommodation and engine room are located at aft. Large bulbous bow and transom stern are applied to achieve efficient propulsive performance.
