Bulk Carrier FAR EASTERN PROGRESS Completed

 

Hitachi Zosen Corporation recently completed the FAR EASTERN PROGRESS, a 72,195dwt bulk carrier, at its Maizuru Works. The vessel was delivered to the owner, Far Easten Silo & Shipping (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., on June 28, 1996.

The features and main specifications of this vessel are as follows :

 

Features

 

1. This is the 81st Hitachi Panamax and the third Hitachi Panamax Optima (New Version) vessel which embodies several improvements over the original version.

These include a larger propeller for further fuel savings, as well as increased deadweight tonnage and cargo capacity.

2. Equipped with an energy-efficient HITACHI ZOSEN-MAN B & W 6S60MC type main engine and the HITACHI ZOSEN Super Stream Duct (SSD) at its stern, the FAR EASTERN PROGRESS has excellent propulsion efficiency.
