NEW CHAMPION,the Twenty-second "70BC" "Developed by Sanoyas
The 70,296-dwt bulk carrier NEW CHAMPION was delivered to Frontier Maritime Shipping S.A. of Panama in July 1996 at the Mizushima Works and Shipyard of Sanoyas Hishino Meisho Corporation. Built for energy efficiency, the carrier is the twenty-second vessel of its type. The highly economical "70BC" design was developed by Sanoyas for Panamax bulkers.
Features
1. The cargo space is divided into seven cargo holds with topside tanks and hopper bottoms; its bulk carrier structure affords efficient cargo stowage.
2. Cargo carrying capacity is increased by maximizing deadweight and hold capacity.
3. Hydraulic, motor-driven, side- rolling hatch covers are used, and hatch openings are maximized to facilitate cargo handling.
