Chemical Carriers
TORM ALICE,47,600-dwt Product/Chemical Tanker
TORM ALICE designed and built by Onomichi Dockyard as a product/chemical tanker with submerged cargo oil pumps, gives slightly more cargo space and deadweight capacity compared with a vessel having pump room configuration.
The double skinned vessel is able to carry crude oils, petroleum products and chemicals (BTX. MTBE. sodium hydroxide solution) in 14 cargo oil tanks segregated into four groups plus port and star- board slop thanks providing a total capacity of 53,750 m3.
Loading/discharging of cargo oil is handled by 14 sets of Frank Mohn Submerged cargo pumps of which capacity is 500m3/h× 130mlc each.
The vessel is powerd by MAN-B & W 6S50MC (Mark-V) with a higher energy efficiency, and designed the service speed of 15.0knots, which would yield a fuel consumption of 32.9tons/day and an endurance of 16,500 nautical miles.
