Cars can fail at any time. Defective cars shall be repaired immediately and returned to the main line service to improve working efficiency.
7.2.8 Heavy Maintenance and Overhaul
This shall be performed at the Binnamangala rolling stock base.
Heavy maintenance of trucks shall be performed every four years.
236 cars x 3 trucks per car = 708 trucks
693 trucks ÷ 4 years = 177 trucks per year
177 trucks per year ÷ 250 days = 0.70 trucks per day
To perform heavy maintenance of two cars in eight days, a space for heavy maintenance work on six cars is required.
Overhaul shall be performed every eight years,
236 cars ÷ 8 years = 30 cars per year
30 cars per year x 60 days per car = 1,800 days per year
1,800 days per year ÷ 250 days pet year = 7.2 (round up to 8)
Therefore, storage space for seven car bodies is required. In addition to this, we plan to prepare a storage space for four car bodies for unscheduled repair and remodeling work.
As such facilities are not necessary at the beginning, they shall be installed when they have become necessary.
7.2.9 Wheel Turning
This shall be performed at the Binnamangala vehicle depot.
The periodicity of wheel turning is to be eight months.
231 cars ÷ 8 ÷ 20 = 1.4 cars per day (round up to 1〜2 cars per day)

The Binnamangala vehicle depot is constructed in Phase I, followed by three other depot at later stages.
