(c) At the Trinity Circle station, trains shall be shunted for shuttle operation with passengers on board. This is not desirable from the viewpoint of passenger service. Loss time in reciprocating on the same track extends train operation time or increases the number of cars.

(3) Track Layout of Shuffling Stations

The illustration below shows two basic track layouts for shuttling stations. Both require shunting trains to a draw-out track after passengers have detrained on the platform. This makes it impossible to shuttle trains within two minutes. To solve this problem, it is desirable to adopt a shuttling system which uses a scissors crossing.

The track to connect the end of the Y-type line with the main Line is used to mm deadhead trains directly to the track for shuttle operation without bringing them to the platform. As such an operation is not frequent, however, this track is not necessary.
