4.3.3 Phase 1 network
Three alternative Phase 1 network were analyzed for the UBT network. They are:
Alt.1: Red Line ; Yesvantpur to Binnamangala
Alt.2: Alt.1 * Green Line; Navarang Junction to Mysore Road
Alt.3 : Red Line ; Yesvantpur to Hudson Circle Jct
+ Blue Line; Hudson Circle Jct to Jayanagar
Among the alternatives Alt.2 will have the largest passenger. But Alt.3 having less route length seems to be more efficient compared with Alt.2.
However, Phase 1 network of ELRTS has not been necessarily selected on the base of passenger demand. It is selected considering the road condition for construction of ELRTS facilities, the site of stations and depots etc.
At present the Phase 1 network is selected as the portion of Green Line from Mysore Road to Navarang Road JCT and Red Line from Navarang Road JCT to Domlur. The total route length of Phase 1 network is 25.9 kms.
