MESSAGE
Greetings to the Japan Ballet Association on the occasion of the "6th Asian Pacific International Ballet Competition".
In our present world dominated by economic competition between nations, differences along ethnic and racial lines and greater aggresivness in technology and modernization, I believe that a crucial element in the continued goodwill and friendship of member countries can be attributed to cultural and artistic endeavors. Through dance, music and arts, we have recovered the familiarity of old neighbors and the greater meaning of our historical ties while at the same time keeping our national identities intact.
I am pleased that the Philippines has six participants in the Senior category and one in the Junior category for the competition. Through their participation, they are doing their share in the enrichment of world culture and understanding.
I wish to thank the Japan Ballet Association for organizing this event. I appreciate their efforts in bringing various nations together in a dynamic and fruitful cooperation through the creative world of dance.
祝辞
「第6回アジア･パシフィック国際バレエ･コンクール」に際し、日本バレエ協会へ祝辞を述べさせていただきます。
国家間の経済競争、民族･人種間の差異、強大な技術攻撃および近代化というようなものに支配されているこの現代の世界において、出場者の国々の友好親善を続けてゆく決定的な要素は、文化･芸術面の努力にあると信じております。ダンス、音楽および美術を通して、我々は古き時代の近隣諸国のことや歴史的つながりのより重要な意味を熟知するようになりました。そして一方では、それぞれの国の独自性をそのまま保持してまいりました。
フィリピンから、このコンクールへシニア部門6名、またジュニア部門1名の参加者を出すことができ、光栄に思っております。
このコンクールを主催される日本バレエ協会へ敬意を表します。創造的なダンスの世界を通して、ダイナミックで実り多き協力態勢をとられ、様々の国々をともに呼び集められるその献身に感謝致します。
