MESSAGE FROM THE NEW ZEALAND EMBASSY
It is with great pleasure that I offer the support and encouragement of the New Zealand Embassy in Tokyo on the occasion of the 6th Asian Pacific International Ballet Competition.
This competition provides a wonderful opportunity for young talented dancers from around the Asia-Pacific region to measure their skills against one another, and to reach new levels of achievement in their art. It also helps to further goodwill, friendship and understanding between the countries involved. The participants from New Zealand have always gained much from the experience, both artistically and personally. This year New Zealand will be represented by two competitors in the senior section. I wish them and all the participants every success in giving their best performance in the competition.
I offer our congratulations to the Japan Ballet Association, and the other Japanese organisations involved, for organising and supporting so generously this event which helps bring Japan and the countries of the region closer together. Please accept our best wishes for its continuing success.

第6回アジア･パシフィック･国際バレエコンクールに際し、東京のニュージーランド大使館よりこのような支持と激励をささげることができ、このうえもない喜びであります。
このコンクールにより、アジア･パシフィック地域の才能ある若いダンサーたちは、互いに技術を競い合い、また、彼らの芸術における新しい達成レベルへ到達するためのすばらしい機会を提供されることになります。また、参加国間の親善.友好.理解も深まってまいります。ニュージーランドからの参加者は、常にその経験から芸術面において、また個人的にも多くのことを習得してまいりました。今年は、ニュージーランドよりシニア部門2名が代表として出場致します。その2名の代表者および全参加者が、このコンクールにおいて最高の演技を披露できるよう成功をお祈り申し上げます。
日本バレエ協会および他の日本の関係機関へ、日本とその地域の国々をより親密にしてくれるこのコンクールを、非常に寛大に主催し、かつ支持して下さったことに対してお祝いの言葉を申し上げます。今後ともなお一層の御健勝をお祈り申し上げます。
