has been recognized by the Japanese Foreign Minister as appropriate for sending the Japan Disaster Relief Team, carries out rescue activities, emergency disaster countermeasures, and disaster recovery activities, as well as promptly and appropriately transports disaster relief personnel and the materials, equipment and other supplies required for the activities concerned, using the Agency's ships and aircraft, to the affected overseas area.
In FY 1995, JMSA did not carry out any international disaster relief activities. However, it conducted drills and study and training programs related to international disaster relief activities and worked to enrich and strengthen its system for these activities.
