In accordance with the character of the nautical occupation we
emphasize to strengthen the training of comprehensive abilities in the revised program.
The comprehensive abilities contain the response, judgment, making decisions, taking
measure in emergency, etc.. The experiments and practical training are also stressed in
the period of studies, Students are able to acquire practical skills and knowledge in
laboratory, workshop and ships. Simultaneously, the subjects and syllabus are optimized in
order to meet the requyrements of the STCW Conventions and the State Education Committee
of China. Total class hours reduced from 2695 to 2514, but the contents are not reduced.
