Department of Maritime Technology at YNCMT can get the Third Grade
Maritime Officer (Nautical or Marine Engineering) and the Third Grade Watch Officer of
dual purpose without the written examinations.
7. CONCLUSIONS
The ship's LAN system and its some training effects on the fouty-one
marine course students are introduced and demonstrated with the following results;
1) Main principal particulars of the training ship Yuge-maru and her
engine simulator are introduced and they are 240[GT], 1300[ps] and the capacity of 56
complements and cadets.
2) The three sets of work stations (EWS) cooperated with LAN which can
collect, monitor and analyze all the information of navigation and engine are also
introduced for engine simulators having the large color graphic display which can show 5
kinds of program lists as follows;
a) warming up operation,
b) main engine start/stop operation,
c) operation of CPP output regulation and shaft rotation control,
d) operation of LO, CFW, CSW, compressed air system and caluculation of
fuel consumption rate.
3) The eight times of practical training have been done for
introduction of full engine system and composition of S/B mode of engine system with five
hours in total on the picture of operation picture (OPE)-1.
4) After eight times of practical training with five hours some
questionnaires were offered to fouty-one students as cadets and the following answering
results;
4-1) Concerning with favorite subject choicing out of 7 ones;
a) mathematics is the most favorite subject (26[%]), the second one
English (20[%]), the third one social study (18[%]) and the forth science (14[%]).
