YANMAR Marine Diesel Engine
Amagasaki Factory
Engine Factory in Amagasaki --- the Production Center of High Performance Large Diesel Engines with a Worldwide Reputation

Yanmar's Amagasaki Plant was founded in 1936 to produce the world's first small diesel engines. It subsequently converted mainly to the production of large diesel engines, including marine propulsions and auxiliaries, industrial diesels and gas engines. The plant began the production of gas turbines, too, in 1983. Yanmar is proud of its integrated production system, under which all parts of the diesel engines are produced internally. The plant has pursued rigorous automation and laborsaving through use of its own high performance specialized machines and all the latest equipment. The plant has established an "Order Entry System", a rational and waste-free production system, and was one of the first Japanese engine plants to use FMS (Flexible Manufacturing System). It implements rigid quality control.
