New Developed Engine 6EY18(A)L
The Yanmar corporation has redeveloped the 6EY18 marine medium speed engine to complete their line up.
The Yanmar corporation has aimed at energy saving technologies while reducing the consumption of resources. The Yanmar corporation is aiming for increased harmony with the global environment and has been working with this in mind on technological innovation and the development of new products.
The newly developed 6EY18 engine is a new product that while aiming at improved "environmental harmony" has an increased "life cycle value." Namely, this is a product concept that while customers are using their boats through out their lives, the values of maintenance reliability and durability, low cost operation and thus long term peace of mind are realized.
1. Merits:
a) The low sac Fuel values, variable jacket water temperature control, valve stem seal with backpressure lip, are technologies included to reduce soiling of the combustion chamber which occurs with the use of low grade heavy oil.
b) With the introduction of a new "stay clean" design turbocharger maintenance intervals will be lengthened and the automatic back washing LO filter allows for maintenance free operation.
c) Compact design allows simplicity in the engine room layout.
d) With a concentration of the pipe connections at the front of the engine, the piping construction man-hours are reduced.
e) The intercooler is attached to the supercharger compacting into one unit.
The number of parts has been reduced by 30% further increasing the ease of maintenance.
f) High probability of corresponding to future environmental regulations.
