[06.14]Radio equipment GMDSS (IMO-link-NR04)
IEC 60945 has already been published to respond IMO Res.A.694(17) "General requirements for shipborne radio equipment forming part of GMDSS and for electric navigational aids". Further, standards for GMDSS equipment itself have already been published as IEC61097 series incorporating the said IMO Resolutions. Therefore see no reason to remain this item.

IHB(secretariat of IHO) replied to SC6 secretariat by their letter dated 2 November 1997 that IHO is reluctant to adopt IHO standard M-4 into ISO standard. Thereafter discussions held between ISO/CS and IHO but more than 3 years has passed without obtaining IHO consent.

Considering the above situation, SC 6 Secretariat suggest that this item should be deleted from the list. |
