(80) Re: VENTILATION: I consider that natural ventilation is recommendable to prevent self-heating of the cargo. Furthermore, to prevent the accident due to the lack of oxygen, the cargo space should be ventilated before entering into the cargo hold. Therefore, I propose the following sentences for substituting the sentence "Mechanically ventilate the cargo space":

"Surface natural ventilation should be conducted, as necessary, for removing any residual solvent vapour. Mechanical ventilation is not recommended to prevent self heating of the cargo. Prior to discharge or entering into the cargo spaces, the cargo hold should be ventilated, as necessary, to prevent the accident caused by oxygen depletion."

I basically agree with your opinion dated on 19 July that only one entry will be provided in the BC Code for mineral concentrates. The words "Mineral concentrates" may be appropriate for the heading of the entry. I am of the opinion that it is better to explain about the usage of BCSNs in the entry as follows:

 

"Mineral concentrates

The following Bulk Cargo Shipping Names (BCSNs), expressed in capital letters, should be used in cargo declarations:
