They also shared the view that having expert meetings headed by the Director General level in March and June 2001 in the Russian Federation would be appropriate preparation to the High Level Meeting.
7. The Heads of the agencies also expressed the intention to:
a. Invite observers/participants to events of mutual interests within the North Pacific regional agenda.
b. Encourage delegations to international conferences to coordinate positions whenever appropriate.
c. Consider supporting existing multilateral groups currently working in areas of common interests.
8. The High Level Meeting requested to the Commandant, Japan Coast Guard to inform Canada and China of the result of discussion.
9. The Heads of the agencies acknowledged that the above-mentioned cooperation would contribute to the further development of mutual understanding and friendly relationships among the countries. They hoped that such cooperation among coast guard agencies would be established in other regions as well.
The Heads of the agencies shared the view that they would designate the con-tact points as annexed hereto to promote cooperation mentioned above.
