(Duties of the Chief of the Branch)

Article 2-2. The Chief of the Branch shall administer the affairs of the specific functions of the Branch, and to direct and supervise over the personnel thereof.

(Relation between Power of Supervision and Judicial Power)

Article 3. The power of supervision mentioned in Article 1 to 3 shall not influence or restrict the judicial power of Judges and Commissioned Judges.

(Settlement of Doubtful Points)

Article 4. Any doubtful point arising out of the method of performing the functions of the Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency shall be settled by virtue of the supervisory power under the Article 1 to 2-2.

 

 

Chapter II. Judge and Commissioned Judge

(Assignment of Functions)

Article 5. The head of each Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency (including the Chief of the Branch; hereinafter the same in this Chapter) shall fix the assignment of the functions to each Judge prior to the beginning of the next fiscal year. However, when an urgent necessity is deemed, he may change such assignment or cause another Judge to act for the other Judge in performance of his duties.

(Assignment of Inquiry Affairs)

Article 6. The assignment of inquiry affairs at each Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency shall be made by the each head thereof.

(Senior Judge)

Article 7. When the head of a Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency cannot perform his duty, the Director General of the High Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency May cause one Judge (called "Senior Judge"),previously designated from among the judges of the said Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency, to act for the said head (including the Chief of the Branch) in performance of hisduties as prescribed in Chapter II.
