(Calculation of Periods)
Article 83. In the calculation of periods consisting of days, months or years, the first day shall not be included, except in the cases of the proviso of Article 33 and Article 53, paragraph 2, of the Law, and the period in which the use of license is suspended.
2 Days, months and years shall be calculated according to the calender.
3. If the last day of the period falls under any day designated in items of Article 1, paragraph 1, of the Law concerning Holiday of Administrative Agencies (Law No. 91, 1988), such days shall not be included, except in the cases of the proviso of Article 33 of the Law and the period in which the use of license is suspended.
(Travelling Expenses for Witness, Etc.)
Article 84. The travelling expenses, which are to be paid to the witness, expert witness, interpreter and translator (hereinafter called “witness, etc.”) under Article 64, paragraph 1, of the Law shall include four kinds of the railway fare, ship charge, distance fee, and air fare. The railway fare shall be paid for travel on land for the section where the railway service is available, the ship charge for travel by water for the section where the ship service is available, the distance fee for travel on land for the section where the railway service is not available or for travel by water for the section where the ship service is not available, and the air fare for travel by air when there exists a particular reason to use the air service.
2. The railway fare and ship charge shall be calculated from the passenger fare (when the travel is made by railway or ship with the fare classes, the middle class or below as approved reasonable by the Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency when the fare is divided in three classes or the class as approved reasonable by the Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency when the fare is divided in two classes), express train charge (limited express train charge for travel of 100 km or more for one-way trip over the section where the limited express train service is available or normal express train charge for travel of 50 km or more for one-way trip over the section where the normal express train is operated), and special charge by coach accommodation and special charge by cabin accommodation as approved worthy of payment by the Marine Accidents Inquiry Agency and the reservation charge (limited for the travel of 100 km or more for one-way trip over the section where the normal express train with reservation charge is operated or the travel over the section where the ship with reservation charge is operated) . The distance fee shall be calculated on a \37 per kilometer base while the air fare by the passenger fare and special jet plane charge.
