Main Features
1. The double hull structure meeting the latest regulations has specifications even complying with some anticipated new safety rules.
2. The analysis of its hull structure has earned the vessel the Dynamic Loading Approach (DLA) and Safe Hull Notations from the American Bureau of Shipping. Coupled with these qualifications, a 25 year fatigue life setting gives extra reliability to the hull.
3. In addition to the inside coating of ballast tanks, the cargo tanks are also coated inside with tar epoxy all over to prevent red rusting and bottom pitting of the tanks, the first ever such protective measure applied to a VLCC.
4. The mooring and related systems, thoroughly embodying a safety first concept, not only satisfy the emergency towing arrangement (ETA) standards of the SOLAS Convention, but also are unique functional arrangements, developed by SHI on its own to better meet the requirements of practical use.
5. The tanker is equipped with a voyage management system (VMS).
SHI's shipbuilding division, founded in 1897, has a history of over a century, and has so far delivered some 1,200 vessels.
