The 87,890MT-dwt KUROIAKISAN MARU is a coal carrier built by Koyo Dockyard Co., and delivered to Mitsui O.S.K Lines. Lid/ EPCD Marine Co., Ltd./EPCD Overseas Co., Lid/International Marine Transport Co., Ltd. on July 6, 1995. She is in service to transport coal from Australia to Japan.
Features
1. The wide-beam and shallow-draft hull form is adopted to meet the limitations of the port facilities.
2. A five hold-eight hatch arrangement is adopted to heighten the cargo handling efficiency of the ship.
3. The hatch side coaming is inclined for higher efficiency of loader operation during unloading.
4. A pipe duct is provided at a part of the topside tank avoiding the upper deck piping arrangement for the better passage on the upper deck.
5. The stern form fitted with a shoe piece is adopted for improved maneuverability.
