An 87,996-dwt coal carrier SHOHO MARU was completed by Sasebo Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SSK) delivered to Shinwa Kaium Kaisya Ltd. of Japan, May 1995.
The ship has 8 pairs cargo hatches for 5 cargo holds specially considered for cargo handling efficiency. All deck piping are arranged in under-deck pipe tunnel, which will reduce onboard-maintenance and prevent mechanical damage during cargo handling.
Sasebo Stern Fin (SSF) is equipped near to the propeller in order to increase propulsive efficiency. Unmanned engine room Grade-B of Class-NK is complied with.
