We ever accepted test reports on fire doors issued by foreign test agency. This is on case-by-case basis.
7. Inspections of radio equipment on board ships:
It is assumed that the question is on survey of safety radio installation on ships. A group of private radio surveyors who are qualified by the Telecommunication Authority of Singapore (TAS) are authorised to conduct radio surveys on Singapore ships for MPA and authorised classification societies but not issue safety radio certificates. The certificates are issued by the classification sooieties or MPA based on the survey reports prepared by the radio surveyors. Until recently, TAS had been conducting the suveys and issue certificates on behalf of MPA.
8. Increase in inspection works with the coming into force of GMDSS in 1999:
Increase is expected, but cannot be quantified.
9. Difference in standards applied to fire standards for land use and for ship use:
There is no difference.
10. Incorporation of ISO 9001〜3 in ship inspection:
Not yet.
11. Future movement in the deregulation:
Not known.
