The government may accept the results of the test reports, etc. by other testing agencies (including those overseas) than the ship classification societies, but these agencies must be entrusted by the government.
9. What are the testing organizations/agencies whose test reports are accepted by CCS? On what items are they aceepted?
The Register and CCS can accept the test reports by other testing agancies which are authorized by The Register according to its "Procedures of Approval for Testing and Verifying Organization of Marine Products".
10: As an example, are different standards applied to the fire extinguishers for land use and for ship use?
The standards for the fire extinguishers on ship should be based on IMO Resolution.
11. how are the inspections of the radio equipment on board the ships shared between CCS and the Government?
The Register can carry out inspection of the radio equipment according to IMO Resolution and its own "Technical Regulation for Statutory Survey of Sea-Going Ships", and CCS can carry out inspection of the radio equipment installed on board vessels also according to above mentioned Resolution and Regulation.
12. The GMDSS will be mandatorily applied to any ships by 1999, and how do you expect the change in the inspection amount associated with the mounting of this system?
With regard to the ships to be satisfied with the International Convention for the Safety of Live at Sea, the GMDSS must be applied to them by 1999 in China, the other ships will be taken gradually appropriate measures ascording to the fact conditions.
