In Africa and Latin America, all 5 SYLFF institutions have created Local Associations
Conclusion for those regions with and without Local Associations:
■ Residence of SYLFF fellows close to their home institutions appears to facilitate the formation of a Local Association.
■ This is particularly true for North America and the Pacific.
■ But in other regions, the local residence does not appear to be a major factor for creating a Local Association.

The number of SYLFF fellows does not appear to be of importance for the formation of a Local Association.
Overall Conclusion
Neither the local residence of SYLFF fellows nor their total number appears to be a factor for forming a Local Association.
SYLFF fellows at institutions that have not yet created a Local Association should be encouraged to do so!
