This document has been prepared by The Tokyo Foundation's Scholarship Division, based on prepared texts, tape transcriptions and notes, for dissemination to all participants and all of the SYLFF Steering Committees at the 69 universities and consortia in the SYLFF network. These Proceedings are intended to facilitate intra- and inter-university discussion and ongoing dialog with the foundation, and to contribute to mid- and long-term planning. Presentation slides, and the Session 7-related questionnaire and summary of the responses are included as appendices.
The Scholarship Division expresses its deepest appreciation to all of the SYLFF Program administrators, 2004 SYLFF Prize recipients, International Advisory Committee members, and SYLFF Fellows Council members for their contributions and camaraderie in Copenhagen.
Last but not least, we all join in a standing ovation for the University of Copenhagen for hosting the celebration of the SYLFF Program's 20th anniversary and the biennial SYLFF Program Administrators' Meeting. Very special thanks are extended to Rector Ralf Hemmingsen, Director of International Affairs John E. Andersen and Head of Section, International Office Hedvig Thomsen. Their thoughtfulness, invaluable assistance and warm hospitality throughout the planning, implementation and follow-up phases were extraordinary.
