SYLFF regional forums are convened to discuss common themes and to acquaint the participants with other SYLFF fellows from diverse backgrounds. Once every two years, SYLFF fellows gather for three regional forums at SYLFF-endowed institutions in the Americas, Africa and Europe, and the Asia-Pacific.
The common theme for the 2005 regional forums was "The SYLFF Network in Action: Tackling the Challenges of Sustainable Development." Regional forums were convened under that theme on May 31 to June 4 at Portland State University, in the United States; on June 19 to 23 at the University of Indonesia; and on July 20 to 24 at the University of Coimbra, in Portugal.
In 2003, the common theme was "Multiculturalism: Capitalizing on the Wealth of Diversity." Forums were convened on April 2 to 5 at The University of Texas at Austin; on June 22 to 26 at The American University in Cairo; and on October 19 to 23 at Chiang Mai University, in Thailand.
