4.2.3 Resetting

After the resetting of hooks, the posture of each hook is held by the lock piece and the lock piece is locked by the com lever pin with reset lever. To ensure the resetting of the fore and aft hooks, the procedures described in paragraph 3.1 should be followed. As a note, the reset lever is required to operate at the same time on both fore and aft side. After resetting of the hooks, the release handle near steering console also returns. (See Fig.4.2.3)

4.3.2 Operation

When the lifeboat is fully waterborne, the lifeboat can be released by removing the safety pin and then pulling the release handle fully and quickly (off-load release). Even though the lifeboat is not fully waterborne, when the interlock cover is opened and the interlock lever is lifted up, the lifeboat can be released by the same operation as the off-load release over-ridding the interlock function of the hydrostatic unit (on-load release).
