4.4.2 Reset operation

Lift up the hooks fore and aft as shown
and hold them.
 To
be lifted up the hooks with force. |

Swing down the reset levers simultaneously on both fore and aft side.
Swing down the reset lever until it contacts a pin.
A release handle returns its original position by swinging down the reset lever.
Confirm the reset of the hooks after the reset levers are swung down. |

Make sure that the release handle is its original
position and insert the safety pin.
If the release handle is not its original position, it is not capable to insert the safety pin. |

Make sure that the reset levers are swinging
down and fit suspension links of the davit with the hooks of both fore
and aft. |

At least three people are required for the resetting of the hooks and release handle. |

|
Caution
・Do not connect the suspension link of the davit to the hooks until completion of reset of the hooks. It is dangerous to connect the suspension link during resetting operation of the hook and results in incomplete reset.

Warning
・Where the resetting is incomplete, return to the first step.
・To recover with incomplete reset condition results in serious disaster by the falling of the lifeboat.

(7) Overhaul of the hook parts
In case the overhaul of the fore and aft hooks is carried out, follow the below.
(8) Confirm the wear limit of the lock piece and the hook
Where the hooks are overhauled, confirm the wear limit. If the actual wear exceeds the wear limit, they need to be replaced.
In case of the assembly, confirm positions of the lock piece and the cum lever pin.
With reference to the lock condition, confirm positions of the release handle, the interlock lever, the interlock cover and the safety pin.
