3 Operation procedure for launching and recovery
3.1 Releasing procedure
An outline of the on-load/off-load releasing procedures is shown in the following figure.
This operation is conducted when the lifeboat is fully waterborne.

Caution
Confirm the following points before the operation.
・The ropes and so on not to tangle around fore and aft hooks.
・The lifeboat to be fully waterborne.
・The grip of the remote control wire to be removed.
・The engine to be started.
・All crew to have taken their seats with fastening their seatbelts. |

In case of the off-load release, the releasing procedure is to be in accordance with the following steps.

Pull out the safety pin. |

Pull the release handle as shown.
 Pull
the release handle until it is locked by one action. |
 |

In case the hook is not released by the above operations, confirm conditions of each hook and whether the boat is waterborne. When the release operation cannot be done, nevertheless release operation is practicable by on-load release on the next page. In this case, ensure safety and conduct the on-load release operation in accordance with the instructions of the commander.
And, where it is not in an emergency case of abandon ship, maintenance and overhaul in accordance with section 4 of this manual are to be conducted.

This operation is acceptable only in case the hydrostatic system can not work prospectively and the hook will not be released.
"This operation drops the lifeboat and may cause fatal accidents".

Warning
・Ensure safety and conduct the on-load release operation in accordance with the orders of the commander.
・Operation of the release handle upon insufficient confirmation of safety results in serious disaster by the falling of the lifeboat.

In case of the on-load release, the releasing procedure is to be in accordance with the following steps.
"This operation drops the lifeboat and may cause fatal accidents".
