Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. completed the continuous bucket type reclaimer "No.2 Kaiosei" on March 31 and delivered to KANMON KOWAN KENSETSU Co., Ltd. The vessel, adaptable to many different types of soil, has a large reclaiming capacity of 3,000 m³/h.

The vessel embodies the new type reclaimer using both the continuous bucket system developed by SHl and the shipowner's know-how in actual reclaiming operations. This new type reclaimer adopts the sealed structure to prevent dust from scattering and the electric drive system to restrain noise and to achieve easy maintenance.

　

The efficient continuous bucket system shows large reclaiming capacity of 3,000 m³/h. The sophisticated automatic control mechanism ensures steady reclaiming.

　

Environmentally friendly features include the sealed structure to prevent dust dispersion, the deck plate arranged underneath the conveyor to avoid sludge leaking, and an electric drive system to restrain noise and to achieve easy maintenance.

　

The continuous bucket system, which can easily scoop mud and sand, is able to handle smoothly any kind of soil, ranging from clay to rock pieces. It can also handle dredged soil.

　

The vessel can efficiently unload soil from any size mud barge in the capacity range from 1,000 m³ to 3,500 m³ without changing the barge's position during an unloading operation.

　

The spreader has the 68 m outreach and can rotate within the range of 150 degrees horizontally and can discharge the soil both longitudinal and lateral directions, in order to meet various stage of reclaiming.

　

The inverter-controlled electrical drive system results in a substantial energy saving and achieves easy maintenance compared to the conventional hydraulic drive systems.
