5.10 surface_representations［USC］
surface_representations UoFは、connected surfaceとしてのmoulded formを表現するための情報要求について記述している。このUoFは細切れのsurfaceを連結し1セットのsurface modelを表現するため、topologicalとgeometric情報を結合している。
このUoFは面や直線のような単純な幾何と同様に、B-splineカーブと面のような複雑な幾何を表現している。またこれらは造船用語とも繋がりがある。もしカーブや面が相互に連結されているならば、そのような情報はtopologicalを使用する事によりハッキリと表現される。
ここではDIS document-Annex G（ARM）を参照しながら、surface_representations UoFに含まれる2個のアプリケーションオブジェクトについて解説する。
5.10.1 non_manifold_surface_shape（DIS−4.2.72）
non_manifold_surface_shapeはISO 10303-508に順応する形状表現である。
5.10.2 surface_shape_representations（DIS−4.2.110）
surface_shape_representationsは一組の接合されたsurface patchとして表面モデルを表現するために位相と幾何情報を組み合わせたmoulded_form_shape_-representationタイプの一種である。
