神戸太鼓保存会は、現会長・児玉利夫(日本民謡二葉会会主)先生の「神戸に誰からも愛される郷土芸能を創りたい」との熱意から、昭和48年2月11日建国記念日に、神戸三宮の生田神社において入魂式を行い、産声を上げました。以後、「己を打ち、己を鍛える」をモットーとして活動し、20年以上が過ぎました。これも神戸の皆様をはじめ、たくさんの方々からの暖かいご声援の賜と感謝しています。

　その間、神戸市・兵庫県内はもとより、海外にも活動の場は広がっています。また、淡路・阪神大震災後は、市内各地での鎮魂祭・復興祭などのボランティア活動にも参加し、「がんばろう神戸」の一助になるべく、新たな演奏活動を行っています。

　

　Kobe Taiko Team was formed in 1973 by the strong initiative of the present chairman, Mr.Toshio Kodama, to create the folk art loved by the people and indigenous to Kobe. Close to thirty years since the establishment, the team is appreciative of the warm support it has received from the people of Kobe over the years. They have been invited to perform not only in events organized in Kobe, but also throughout Japan and abroad. Their appreciation for the people's support is now expressed by their active participation as volunteer Taiko players in various ceremonies related to the recovery from the Great Hanshin Earthquake‐whether they are to commemorate the loss of lives by the earthquake or to celebrate more happy occasions of the reconstruction of the devastated city of Kobe.
