In accordance with the legislation of the Confederation the cantons are responsible for physical education and sports in schools by:

 * providing sports lessons in vocational schools 
 * the training of teachers in the field of sport

6. SPORT PARTICIPATION SURVEY 
 Lamprecht und Stamm, Sozialforschung und Berarung AG, 8006 Zurich, conducted"Sport Swiss 2000" in August 2000, taking sample from 2,200. The result shows that 12% practice sport every day, 30% more than 3 times a week, 21% once a week, 10% once  a month, 27% none.
