12. PRESENT ISSUES AND CHALLENGES
Changing Singaporeans' mindset and attitude towards sports. Many Singaporeans have the misconception that sports takes up a lot of time and often give the excuse that they have no time to do exercise due to their work and family commitments. They also mistakenly believe that one has to be fit in order to exercise, when in fact, on the contrary, one should actually exercise to be fit.
Thus, the biggest challenge facing Sport for All movement in Singapore is making Singaporeans understand that playing sports is beneficial and can actually be easy and fun. The long term goal of Sport for All in Singapore is to cultivate a sports culture where every Singaporean understand and believes in the value of sports and voluntarily makes sports and exercise a lifelong commitment.
