In Figure 4-1, the reference container packed with dangerous liquids is stowed on the hatchway cover at port side and sensitive vertical lines at port side under deck should be segregated In Figure 4-2, the reference container packed with dangerous solids or gases is stowed on the hatchway cover at port side and segregation is not required for under deck stowage. In Figure 4-3, the reference container packed with dangerous liquids is stowed on the centre hatchway cover and sensitive vertical lines at both sides under deck should be segregated. In Figure 4-4, the reference container packed with dangerous liquids is stowed in a vertical line not on a hatchway cover on deck and segregation is not required in the cargo hold. In Figure 4-5, the reference container is stowed in a sensitive vertical line under deck but segregation is not required for on deck stowage, because "open on top of closed" is permitted.

6.3 Away from .1 - Open versus Open

The segregation requirements for "Away from .1 - Open versus Open" are governed by Table 3 Figures 5-1 to 5-5 are examples of the segregation.

In Figure 5-1, the reference container packed with dangerous liquids is stowed on the hatchway cover at port side and sensitive vertical lines at port side under deck should be segregated. By applying the principle described in paragraph 5.3, sensitive vertical lines in only one bay, i,e., a container space in longitudinal direction, should be segregated corresponding to the reference container, as shown in this figure and the following figures. In Figure 5-2, the reference container packed with dangerous liquids is stowed on the centre hatchway cover and sensitive vertical lines at both sides under deck in one bay should be segregated. In Figure 5-3, the reference container packed with dangerous liquids is stowed in a vertical line not on a hatchway cover on deck and segregation is not required for under deck stowage. In Figure 5-4, the reference container is stowed out of sensitive vertical lines under deck and segregation is not required for on deck stowage. In Figure 5-5, the reference container is stowed in a sensitive vertical line under deck and containers packed with dangerous liquids should not be stowed in vertical lines in the same bay on hatchway covers corresponding to the reference container.

6.4 Separated from .2 - Closed versus Closed

The segregation requirements for "Separated from .2 - Closed versus Closed" are governed by Table 4. Figures 5-1 to 5-5 are examples of the segregation. The segregation requirements are the same as those for "Away from .1 - Open versus Open".

6.5 Separated from .2 - Closed versus Open

The segregation requirements for "Separated from .2 - Closed versus Open" are governed by Table 5. In cases where the reference container is stowed on deck, the examples of segregation are the same as those for the segregation "Away from .1 - Open versus Open" and Figures 5-1 to 5-3 are examples of segregation "Separated from .2 - Closed versus Open". Figure 6 is an example of the segregation when the reference container is stowed in a sensitive vertical line under deck.

6.6 Separated from .2 - Open versus Open

The segregation requirements for "Separated from .2 - Open versus Open" are governed by Table 6. Figures 7-1 to 7-3 are the examples of the segregation.
