3　Penetration test

Poland and Japan carried out the Penetration tests in accordance with D.1.2 of the BC Code. The detailed condition for the tests are given in Table 5.

Note 1: Tamping pressure was determined taking the bulk density and depth of the cargo into consideration.

　

During the tests in Japan, two penetration bits were set on the specimen. The bit penetration depth means the bigger value. In the test for Nickel Slag, the penetration depth were more than 50 mm regardless of moisture content of the sample. The results for the other materials are shown in Figure 5.1 to 5.4.
